Oak, Thorn, Brass & Pewter 78 x 10 x 78 cm 2026 Farnoush is a multidisciplinary Iranian artist who works and lives in London. She graduated from the Art Academy in 2019. Influenced by her lived experience of war, revolution and human rights violation, she aims to question the divisions created by politic, religion and cultural differences. She uses material as a way to communicate with her audience. She explores material such as human hair, fabric, feather, clay, concrete, tarmac, etc. By placing familiar objects in an unfamiliar form or space she overwhelms the viewer with a sense of entrapment. She researches through documentary footage and photos. By using relevant symbols or gestures she communicates a hidden message. Colour Black is dominant in her work. It is customary for Muslim women to wear Hijab made of black fabric to be kept hidden from the male gaze. Black is used for mourning, religious banners and flags in Islamic culture. She has exhibited internationally. She is a twice Award winner by Passion for Freedom 2024 New York and 2018 London. She was awarded Summer Show Exhibition by RSS 2024 and Thirsk Hall Sculpture Garden in N. Yorkshire in 2023. She is a twice prize winner by Sheros London 2021 & 2022.
