Luce Bergman's work springs from arts-based research in response to museum collections, social history and personal story. Her work utilises a broad range of media including moving image, music, performance, 3D and graphic design. Bergman's recent work explores 3D illustration to represent common narratives in uncommon ways, using small scale sculptural installations to explore gender and the human condition. Bergman divides her professional practice between being a freelance graphic artist, creative producer, academic researcher and Senior Lecturer of BA Visual Communication at Leeds Arts University. She is currently engaged in research with the Roy Ascott Archive & Artworks looking at Ascott's approach to arts pedagogy in postwar Britain. Recent work includes: Song for Whitaker Park with musician Boff Whalley and a Lancashire youth history group which explores local history, nature, typography and songwriting presented in a permanent shed-based installation. Speak Up! An exhibition of political posters which featured over 70 graphic artists and included talks, workshops and musical events. Rushes 01: Tiree, Edge to Edge, a 16mm film shot in collaboration with Joanna Byrne during Screen Argyll's SeaChange Festival. Autoethnographic video performance Rheums which explores domesticity, grief and motherhood.
